Bo is a male dog that we got in early
1998. He began as a real nuisance to us, always running around and getting into
trouble. But these days, he is a calm, mellow dog that lies on the floor all
day, right where we need to be. When we take a shower, Bo will lay right beside
the shower door so that we can't get out, or he will lay right in the walkway to
where you have to step over him.
We
don't know exactly what he is, but we have found out that he may
be part Irish Wolfhound. When we got him from the shelter,
they told us Bo would be a 40 pound Terrier, but he grew, and grew, and
gained a lot of weight. Now he is a ninety pound mutt!
Bo doesn't quite know what to think of Sunny. When we brought her home,
he thought it was his cage, and when sunny first squawked, Bo jumped and
ran into the other room. Now he just eats the food she dropped on the
floor, and sniffs her sometimes. We all love to be around Bo and to play
with him, and Bo enjoys being with us. His
biggest problem is just that he is stubborn and way too smart. He
knows exactly what he doesn't have to do, and his goal isn't to please
us. He is definitely aimed at getting food and petting. Bo is
getting to be pretty old, and like a human he has adopted this nasty habit of
wanting to eat dinner really early. At 4:30 he will start barking at us
and won't stop until we put him out to feed him. Then afterwards he will
sometimes forget that he ate, and start barking at us again. Very...
annoying. Otherwise he
just loves to curl up on the couch and sleep (as you see below) and play with
his rope every now and then. Overall, he is part of the family
and we love him.
