About
Honor Points
Years ago, several close
college age friends established a point-scoring which measured the value
of honor or respect they had earned within their group. This "Honor
Points" system quickly became more of a bonding tool, an honorable way to
humiliate each other, and a host of priceless stories that made it a
desirable tradition to pass along to others.
The system is simple.
Everyone is inherently born with a total of 100 honor points, whether they
realize it or not. However, one may only access these Honor Points
when he or she becomes eighteen years of age. At that point, a
person is free to use the Honor Points however he or she chooses.
Honor Points may be given to others in exchange for a favor, doing
something humiliating, something stupid or crazy, etc. To see a full
list of how Honor Points can be used, please visit the "Official
Rules" page.
To exchange Honor Points
with someone else, both parties must be registered with the National Honor
Points Society, or it is not an official exchange and cannot be counted as
a truly honorable trade of points. Registration is necessary to keep
others from exploiting the system to gain Honor Points from those who do
not know how the system works. Again, refer to the rules page for
more information on this and other common Honor Points mistakes. If
you think you are ready to become a member, head to the "Join
Now" page for a SUPER QUICK and EASY registration.
What you can expect from
using the Honor Points depends on your own creativity, and the mercy of
your friends. If you have an especially deranged mind or display
overly psychotic behavior, you are advised to think carefully before
spending your Honor Points or taking exchanges from someone else.
Most importantly... have fun. Use your points wisely, and seek to
become the most honorable among all of your friends, peers and colleagues!
About the Society
You've heard of the National Honor Society... useful
for getting into college of course. But what do you do once you have
already graduated high school and are looking for an exciting new
program to be a part of. This might just be what you are looking for.
The perfect social and activity organization for a college student with
no money, and friends who already do stupid and embarrassing things.
Established in early 2009, the National Honor Points Society exists to
extend the use of the Honor Points system across the country.
My name is Colin Hemphill, and with the help of a few friends I
established the NHPS the moment I turned eighteen and gained access to
my own Honor Points. I remember countless memorable and funny stories
that my youth pastor told, most of which involved the transfer of a
number of Honor Points. My friends and I who were involved with the
youth group decided to not only take on the tradition of the Honor
Points system ourselves, but to make a national attempt to pass on the
system to others. I know that someday I will have incredible stories to
tell because of the sometimes stupid or dangerous things we might do to
earn a few honor points. But I don't believe it is enough to simply do
this ourselves and try to tell everyone we know to do it too.
That is why I put together this website. It allows people interested in
joining the fun to quickly get into it, but establishes a few base rules
and guidelines to keep the Honor Points system from veering from its
roots. From collaborations between myself and the other founders, and
the experiences of the Honor Points system's creators, we were able to
put together the basic Rules and Regulations guide. This will prevent
your friends from finding loopholes to earn more Honor Points than they
have earned, and to keep the system authentic to its original purpose.
